Who I am
I'm 45, I live in Frankfurt, Germany, and since my divorce five years ago I've travelled more than in the twenty years before put together. My first solo holiday afterwards was a mix of fear and fresh start. Today I know that travelling alone was one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself.

How it all began
After the divorce I honestly just wanted to get away. My first solo trip went to Portugal, booked with a queasy feeling and no big expectations. By the end of the week I had met more new people than in the years before put together, and I knew: I'm doing this again. Since then I set off on my own several times a year, often in organised small groups, sometimes spontaneously.
These experiences shaped me. And I want to pass them on, because back then I would have loved someone to tell me honestly how singles trips over 40 really work.
